Our Doctor

Dr. Cory Hoonhout is the owner and full time veterinarian at Donaldson Animal Hospital. He purchased Donaldson Animal Hospital in 2013 from Dr. Donaldson. Dr. Cory’s father and Dr. Donaldson attended Michigan State University Veterinary School. Dr. Cory was born and raised in Macomb County, MI. As the son of a well known and beloved veterinarian, he grew up with a love for animals and a passion for veterinary medicine. Dr. Cory graduated from Ross University and University of Illinois in 2003. He has special interest in surgery, both routine and advanced.

Dr. Cory spent his time before college working for the IndyCar Series. He worked on Arie Luyendyk’s (aka “The Flying Dutchman”) Indy500 winning team in 1990.

Dr. Cory lives in the Romeo area. He has three cats (AJ, Stevie and Ari). Dr. Cory’s interests outside of veterinary medicine include vintage car racing, travel, ice hockey, cooking, and boating.
